NATALIE IMBRUGLIA ‘doesn't understand’ Sir TOM JONES exit from The Voice

Thursday, September 10, 2026 - Natalie Imbruglia has spoken out over Sir Tom Jones’s sudden departure from ITV’s The Voice UK, admitting that she “doesn’t understand” the decision.

The 51-year-old singer, who toured with Jones earlier this year, said she was “so sad” after learning that the 86-year-old star would no longer be a full-time coach. Her comments come as attention turns to the show’s next series and an expected shake-up of its coaching line-up.

Jones confirmed that ITV had decided to remove him from the full-time panel after offering him what he described as a “much-reduced role”. According to Jones, the broadcaster cited insurance and financial difficulties, while also pointing to plans to refresh the coaching line-up.

He made clear that he did not want to leave and was unhappy with the way the decision was handled. ITV, meanwhile, said it had “loved working with” Jones and that discussions were continuing over possible involvement in the next series.

The controversy has quickly turned Jones’s exit into one of the biggest talking points surrounding The Voice UK ahead of its next chapter. Imbruglia’s reaction adds further weight to the debate, particularly because Jones was still actively involved with the programme and recently appeared excited about the show.

With production for the upcoming series expected to begin soon, pressure will now be on ITV to prove that its new direction can maintain audience interest without one of its most recognisable coaches.
