Wednesday, October 7, 2026 - Shakira and Gerard Piqué are back in court nearly four years after announcing their split, with the latest dispute centered on travel arrangements for their two sons, Milan and Sasha.
The former couple appeared before a Barcelona court on October 6 as Shakira sought changes to their existing visitation agreement.
In a statement released through her representatives, Shakira stressed that she is not seeking to reduce the time the boys spend with their father.
Instead, she wants the burden of travelling between Miami and Barcelona to be shared, arguing that frequent short transatlantic trips can disrupt their emotional, physical and academic wellbeing.
Under her proposal, Piqué would travel to Miami during shorter school holidays so the children can remain closer to their normal routine.
The renewed court battle puts the spotlight back on the practical challenges of co-parenting across continents, while Shakira continues her Madrid tour and Piqué remains based in Spain.
