Girl, 12, fatally shot in US during 'dispute over parking space'

Tuesday, October 6, 2026 - A 12-year-old girl was killed in Baltimore after two men allegedly opened fire during an argument believed to have started over a parking space near a youth football game.

Police said the girl was caught in the crossfire at Leon Day Park on Saturday evening and was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Three adults were also wounded but are expected to recover.

The girl, identified as Khloe Ishway, was not believed to have been the intended target. Police are searching for at least two suspects and continue to investigate how the confrontation escalated into gunfire.

Authorities have appealed to witnesses and anyone with information to assist detectives as the community deals with the loss of a child at a public sporting event.

The shooting has renewed urgent concerns about gun violence in places where families and children should be able to gather safely. Baltimore officials have condemned the incident and promised to pursue those responsible, while residents are demanding greater protection around community parks and youth activities.

The investigation remains active, with police urging anyone who witnessed the shooting or has relevant information to come forward.
