ALISON HAMMOND reveals ‘massive panic attack’ after being rushed off This Morning

Monday, October 5, 2026 - Alison Hammond has reassured fans that she is home and feeling much better after a frightening health scare during a live episode of This Morning.

The 51-year-old presenter was forced to leave the ITV programme on Friday after experiencing heart palpitations and appearing to clutch her chest. She was taken to hospital, where doctors checked her heart, lungs and blood before giving her the all-clear.

Hammond later revealed that the episode was believed to have been a “massive panic attack” — something she said felt extremely real and is still new to her.

In an update to fans, she thanked NHS staff and her This Morning colleagues for supporting her, while admitting she now needs to learn more about panic attacks. Her sudden exit had sparked immediate concern among viewers, particularly because it happened while she was live on air.

For now, Hammond says she plans to rest and “take stock” before returning to work. Her candid update has also put fresh attention on how intense panic attacks can feel, even when medical checks ultimately find no immediate physical problem.

With fans already waiting for her return to the screen, Hammond’s decision to speak openly about what happened could help others recognise that sudden, frightening symptoms deserve attention rather than being ignored.
