KIM KARDASHIAN says she has to ‘hold back’ daughter NORTH, 13, as teen’s fame grows

Monday, October 5, 2026 - Kim Kardashian is opening up about the challenge of managing her daughter North West’s growing interest in fame. In a new interview, the 45-year-old reality star said North, 13, is more comfortable with the spotlight than her younger siblings and is eager to take on more public-facing opportunities.

Kardashian said she sometimes has to “hold her back,” choosing to slow down the number of projects her daughter accepts while making sure she has space to simply be a teenager.

North’s ambitions are already extending beyond the family’s reality-TV fame. The teenager released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, in May and recently reached another milestone by performing her first headline concert in Chicago, with Kardashian supporting her from the audience.

Kardashian said North is particularly drawn to music and wants to keep building her career, but the family is trying to be selective about which opportunities she takes on rather than allowing every offer to move forward.

The conversation also highlighted a notable shift in Kardashian’s approach to co-parenting with Kanye West. She said she and West now have “better communication” when it comes to North’s music-related projects and that they work to stay aligned on opportunities involving their daughter.

For Kardashian, the priority appears to be balancing North’s ambitions with protection from the pressures that come with growing up in the public eye—a challenge likely to remain in focus as the teenager’s career continues to expand.
