Thursday, September 23, 2026 - Taylor Swift has surprised fans once again, announcing an expanded edition of The Life of a Showgirl just a day after revealing her new single, “Patient Zero.”
The pop superstar confirmed that The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore will arrive on September 25 with four new songs: “Patient Zero,” “Pink Clouding,” “Babylon” and “Cleveland!”
Swift explained that the additional music came together unexpectedly during a trip to Sweden with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. What began as a celebration of the success of The Life of a Showgirl turned into another studio session, with Swift saying the new songs were created out of gratitude for the overwhelming response from her fans.
The surprises did not stop there. Swift has also unveiled a 13-second teaser for the “Patient Zero” music video, featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
The full video is scheduled to premiere at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, where Swift will also receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors. With new music arriving within hours and a major awards-show appearance ahead, Swift has once again given fans plenty to talk about.
