Poll shows Israeli opposition ahead of NETANYAHU bloc by 18 seats

Tuesday, October 13, 2026 -Israel’s opposition parties are gaining momentum ahead of the October 27, 2026, general election, with a new Channel 12 poll projecting 67 seats for parties opposed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc, compared with 49 for the ruling coalition.

The survey, conducted on October 12 among 509 adults, puts the opposition in a stronger position as voters prepare for a crucial election that could reshape the country’s political leadership. However, the results remain projections, not a guaranteed election outcome.

Former army chief Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party leads the poll with 23 projected seats, ahead of Netanyahu’s Likud party at 20. Eisenkot also leads Netanyahu as the preferred candidate for prime minister, receiving 45% support compared with Netanyahu’s 35%.

The figures signal a serious challenge for the incumbent, although polling margins, undecided voters and differences between surveys mean the political contest remains uncertain.

With election day approaching, the key question is whether the opposition can translate its polling advantage into a workable government. Israel’s 120-seat Knesset requires at least 61 seats for a parliamentary majority, making coalition negotiations and cooperation between parties critical.

The latest survey puts Netanyahu under mounting electoral pressure, but voters will ultimately determine whether the projected shift becomes a political turning point.
