Tuesday, September 8, 2026 - Food critic and social media star Keith Lee has revealed that he narrowly escaped a potentially deadly collision after a wrong-way driver sped directly toward his vehicle on a Texas freeway.
Lee said he was driving with his wife, Ronni, and two friends around midnight when a vehicle suddenly appeared coming toward them on US Highway 67 near Dallas. He managed to swerve behind a large truck as the car passed by, describing the terrifying moment as feeling like a movie happening in slow motion.
Lee later watched through his rear-view mirror as the wrong-way vehicle continued toward traffic behind him. Another driver attempted to avoid the car before losing control and crashing into a wall.
The resulting collision in Duncanville left one person dead and two others injured. Authorities said the wrong-way driver was allegedly operating a vehicle reported stolen from Irving and was later arrested on an intoxication manslaughter charge.
Lee shared his reaction with followers, saying he was grateful that he and those travelling with him survived the terrifying encounter while expressing condolences to the family of the person who died.
His comments have since triggered an online debate over the way he spoke about his survival, although the victim’s family has reportedly said they did not believe Lee acted with malicious intent. The incident has left Lee reflecting on how close his family came to becoming victims of a crash that unfolded just seconds after the wrong-way vehicle passed them.
