Friday, October 2, 2026 - Miranda Lambert has addressed a long-running rumour that she once punched Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger in the face during an alleged bar confrontation in 2010.
Speaking on The New York Times’ Popcast on October 1, the country singer denied hitting Kroeger, but admitted that she threw moonshine in his face during the incident.
Lambert, 42, said she was nervous when asked directly whether she had hit Kroeger. Instead, she explained that she “threw moonshine on his face” and acknowledged that she had done so.
She also said the incident left Kroeger’s hair “wrecked,” describing the night as one when “no one was in their best state.”
The story had previously resurfaced in 2014 when Lambert’s then-husband, Blake Shelton, hinted at the confrontation in a Rolling Stone interview without naming Kroeger directly.
More than a decade later, Lambert’s comments have provided her own account of what happened, putting a new spotlight on one of country music’s long-running celebrity stories.
