Friday, October 2, 2026 - Ruby Rose has revealed that she was falsely accused of killing a child when she was 15 after discovering a badly injured four-year-old boy at a playground in Australia.
Speaking on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast, the actress recalled finding the boy with severe injuries and rushing him to adults for help. Despite her efforts, the child later died, and police questioned Rose about the death.
Rose said the experience became even more traumatic when classmates began calling her a “baby killer.”
She explained that authorities initially had no clear explanation for what had happened, leaving her caught in a murder investigation despite insisting she had done nothing wrong.
The situation was eventually resolved when the boy’s older brother recovered memories of the accident after experiencing dissociative amnesia and told police what had happened.
According to Rose, the boy’s brother had accidentally pushed him down the slide after his clothing became caught, then fled in panic without remembering the incident. Rose was ultimately cleared, although she said the child’s family did not want her attending his funeral.
The actress described the ordeal as deeply traumatic and said the experience later contributed to her long-standing interest in psychology and understanding human behavior.
