Friday, October 2, 2026 - Australian singer and former Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan has announced that she and her fiancée, Renee Sharples, are expecting their first child.
Donovan revealed on October 3 that she is 22 weeks pregnant, with the baby due in February 2027. The announcement follows the couple’s decision to publicly share parts of their IVF journey earlier this year.
Donovan, 38, and Sharples began their IVF journey toward the end of 2025 after Donovan had been told from a young age that becoming pregnant could be difficult. The couple went through egg retrieval and fertilisation using donor sperm before embryos were created.
Donovan has described the experience as deeply emotional, particularly because she had long been uncertain about whether she would be able to become a mother.
The couple announced their engagement in June 2024 and have now entered a new chapter as they prepare for parenthood.
Donovan has continued working during her pregnancy, including her national This Is Me tour, while the couple have chosen not to find out the baby’s sex before birth. Their pregnancy announcement has already prompted an outpouring of congratulations from fans and fellow Australian entertainers.
