Friday, September 11, 2026 - Adrian Szymaniak, a star of the Polish version of Married at First Sight, has died at the age of 39 following a year-long battle with aggressive brain cancer.
He was diagnosed with grade four glioblastoma in July 2025 and underwent surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy before receiving further privately funded treatment. Despite extensive efforts to fight the disease, the cancer continued to return.
Adrian’s wife, Anita, who he met on the reality show, announced his death on September 5. The couple married during the programme in 2018 and went on to have two children together.
In December 2025, they renewed their wedding vows, marking their enduring relationship as Adrian continued to face his illness. He spent his final weeks surrounded by loved ones and receiving round-the-clock nursing care.
Adrian had openly documented his cancer journey and remained determined to encourage others despite his diagnosis. Fans also rallied behind him, raising more than £500,000 to support his treatment.
His death has prompted an outpouring of tributes, with friends remembering him as joyful, honest, cheerful and loyal. His story has left a lasting impression on viewers who followed his journey from reality television to family life and, ultimately, his courageous battle with cancer.
