Wednesday, September 23, 2026 - Glasgow podcaster James English will have to wait until November to learn his sentence after his scheduled hearing was postponed because a court-ordered report was not ready.
The 43-year-old was previously convicted at Glasgow Sheriff Court of engaging in a course of behaviour that was abusive towards his former partner between July 2022 and November 2023.
The conviction followed a trial in which several allegations were considered, including incidents involving English's former partner while she was pregnant.
The court found six of 19 allegations proved, including claims that he seized her by the neck and pinned her against a door, pressed his thumbs into her eyebrows and struck him. English remains on bail as the sentencing process continues.
Sheriff David Hall has deferred sentencing until November 11, allowing time for the outstanding report to be completed. The court will also continue consideration of a possible non-harassment order.
English is known for his Anything Goes podcast, which has more than 800,000 YouTube subscribers, making the next court hearing one to watch closely as the case moves toward sentencing.
