Wednesday, September 23, 2026 - Dolly Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver has been fired from his longtime role overseeing security for the singer’s properties as a dispute surrounding her estate rapidly intensifies.
Seaver, who had worked as Parton’s head of security for more than two decades and announced her death last month, was dismissed in September.
The situation has now moved into court, with Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell seeking a restraining order and accusing Seaver of making what the filing describes as an “obscene, deliberate and escalating campaign of threats.”
The allegations include claims that Seaver threatened business relationships and demanded payment. Seaver has denied that his messages amounted to threats and described the restraining-order action as a publicity stunt.
The dispute has created an immediate security and business crisis around Parton’s estate, according to the court filing, which claims that some staff and associates have left or sought additional protection. The case remains developing, with the allegations yet to be resolved by a court.
