Friday, September 11, 2026 - Jaime Winstone has revealed that an unexpected compliment from Taylor Swift helped convince her to finally sign up for Strictly Come Dancing.
The actress was dancing at her friend Poppy Delevingne’s birthday party when Swift approached her and praised the way she moved. Winstone said the encounter felt like a clear sign that the time was right to accept an invitation she had previously turned down.
Winstone, 41, said she had been approached about joining the show before but had always been too busy with work or family commitments.
After turning 40, she decided to embrace new opportunities, with her love of dancing making Strictly an especially exciting challenge. The actress, known for roles including Kidulthood and EastEnders, said Swift’s reaction to seeing her dance freely gave her an extra push to take the plunge.
