Saturday, September 5, 2026 - Bruce Campbell, the 68-year-old actor best known for playing Ash Williams in the Evil Dead franchise, has revealed that he has been given an estimated five-year prognosis after being diagnosed with cancer.
Campbell made the emotional disclosure during an appearance on The Adam Carolla Show, explaining that while his cancer is treatable, it is not curable. He has chosen not to reveal the specific type of cancer he is battling.
Campbell said his current prognosis is “a five-year deal,” and when asked whether that meant he had five years to live, he replied, “Give or take.”
Despite the seriousness of the diagnosis, the actor has adopted a determined outlook, saying he has decided to live with the disease rather than allow it to take over his life. He also described the ongoing nature of cancer treatment and the uncertainty that comes with managing an incurable illness.
The actor remains focused on his work and is continuing to promote his new film, Ernie & Emma, which he wrote, directed, produced and stars in. Campbell first revealed his diagnosis earlier this year, describing the cancer as treatable but not curable.
Rather than stepping away from his career completely, he has chosen to keep creating and making the most of his time, maintaining a positive attitude as he faces the difficult road ahead.
