British woman dies after stabbing attack at German train station

Sunday, August 30, 2026 - A 31-year-old British woman has died after being stabbed at Rosenheim railway station in southern Germany in the early hours of Sunday.

Police were called to the station at around 12:50 a.m. after reports that a woman had been attacked with a knife and seriously injured. She was taken to a nearby hospital but later died from her severe injuries.

A 27-year-old German man from the Fürstenfeldbruck district was arrested at the scene shortly after the attack. Police have launched a homicide investigation and are working to establish what led to the stabbing.

It remains unclear whether the victim and the suspect knew each other, while investigators are examining the circumstances and possible motive behind the attack.

Authorities are appealing to witnesses who may have seen an argument, physical altercation or anything unusual at the station around the time of the incident.

The UK Foreign Office said it is supporting the victim’s family and is in contact with local authorities. Investigators are expected to provide further details as the criminal inquiry continues.
