Thursday, September 10, 2026 - Carmen Bryan has filed a civil lawsuit against rapper N.O.R.E., accusing him of sexually assaulting her at a Manhattan nightclub in 1999.
Bryan, an author and entrepreneur who shares a daughter with rapper Nas, alleges that N.O.R.E., whose real name is Victor Santiago, approached her while visibly intoxicated and sexually assaulted her in front of her friends and other clubgoers. The allegations are contained in a 20-page complaint filed in New York this week.
According to the lawsuit, Bryan says she repeatedly told Santiago to stop and was physically overpowered until other people intervened. She alleges that N.O.R.E. later recognized her outside the club and apologized.
Bryan also claims she told Jay-Z about the incident at the time and that he wanted to confront N.O.R.E., but she asked him not to because she feared the situation could escalate. She says she remained silent publicly for more than two decades before deciding to pursue legal action.
Bryan says renewed attention surrounding sexual-assault allegations in the music industry, including Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, brought back traumatic memories of the alleged incident and influenced her decision to come forward.
She reportedly attempted to resolve the matter privately in March 2026, but says N.O.R.E. denied knowing her, leading her to file the lawsuit. The allegations have not been proven in court, and as of the latest reports, N.O.R.E. had not publicly responded to the lawsuit.
