Friday, June 12, 2026- Iran says it has reached understandings on the majority of issues under discussion with the United States, signaling the most advanced stage yet in ongoing negotiations aimed at reducing tensions and shaping a potential framework agreement.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the draft proposal is now undergoing final internal review by relevant institutions, with officials assessing the remaining unresolved points before a formal decision is made.
According to Tehran, much of the negotiating text has already been agreed upon, but key political and technical questions are still being finalized. Iranian officials say internal consultations are underway to determine the country’s final position, while reiterating that no agreement can be confirmed until all institutions reach consensus.
The spokesperson also stressed that while progress has been made, final approval remains a complex domestic process involving multiple state bodies.
Despite signs of momentum, uncertainty remains over whether the talks will produce a signed deal. Iranian officials have previously accused Washington of shifting positions and introducing new demands, slowing progress at critical stages.
While both sides appear closer than in earlier rounds, the situation remains fluid, with the outcome dependent on whether remaining gaps can be resolved and formally endorsed by all parties involved.
