Friday, May 29, 2026-Tensions across Europe escalated sharply after a suspected Russian drone struck a residential building in Romania, injuring civilians and triggering emergency responses from NATO allies. 

The incident, which happened near the Ukrainian border, has intensified fears that the war in Ukraine is increasingly spilling into neighboring European countries. Russian Security Council official Dmitry Medvedev responded with a direct warning, saying more drone incidents could follow as long as European governments continue supporting Ukraine militarily.
