JEFFREY EPSTEIN's purported suicide note unsealed years after jail death

Thursday, May 7, 2026- A federal court has unsealed a document described as a purported suicide note attributed to Jeffrey Epstein, nearly seven years after his death in a Manhattan jail.

The note was reportedly discovered by Epstein’s former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, shortly after an attempted self-harm incident in 2019 and was later sealed as part of an unrelated criminal case. Its release follows a petition from media organizations seeking access to court records tied to Epstein’s final days, reopening public scrutiny of one of the most controversial deaths in recent U.S. criminal history.

The handwritten note, which is unsigned and undated, contains statements expressing frustration and defiance, including references to being investigated and claims that authorities “found nothing.”

Some versions of the document also suggest resignation and references to choosing the timing of one’s “goodbye,” though its authenticity has not been confirmed by federal investigators or Epstein’s estate. Officials involved in the case have not verified whether the writing is genuinely Epstein’s, and it was never part of the official Justice Department evidence files.

The unsealing has reignited debate around Epstein’s death, which was officially ruled a suicide in 2019 but has remained the subject of public skepticism and competing interpretations.

While prosecutors maintain there is no evidence contradicting the official conclusion, the newly released document adds another layer of scrutiny to the final days of a case that continues to draw global attention, political controversy, and ongoing legal examination.
