The report warns that while more people are being diagnosed than ever before, progress in improving survival rates has slowed in recent years, raising concerns that earlier gains in cancer outcomes could stall without immediate intervention.
The surge in cases is placing significant strain on the NHS, with growing waiting times for diagnosis and treatment becoming a major concern.
Health leaders are calling for urgent investment in early detection, staffing, and diagnostic capacity, warning that without rapid action, the system could struggle to cope with rising demand as cases are projected to climb even further in the coming years.
