Tuesday, March 31, 2026-Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is scheduled to meet with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing this week to discuss the situation in Iran and related regional tensions, China’s foreign ministry said. The talks are set to cover the ongoing war and shared diplomatic concerns as both countries seek ways to address the conflict and its broader impact.
The meeting comes amid a push by Islamabad and Beijing to strengthen strategic communication and coordination on the Iran issue, with officials highlighting the importance of joint diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East. Pakistan and China have also outlined a five‑point initiative calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urging peace talks to begin as soon as possible.
Dar’s visit to Beijing follows Pakistan’s recent efforts to host discussions with other regional partners and reflects Islamabad’s increasing role as a potential mediator between Tehran and Washington. Both Pakistan and China have emphasized dialogue and diplomacy as the best way to end the conflict and ensure safe passage through key maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz.
