Friday, March, 13 2026 - Lord Sear, the hip-hop DJ known for his work with Eminem, has d!ed aged 52.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lord
Sear. He was more than a voice on the radio — he was a force, a friend, and
family to so many of us,” the caption of a tribute post on Sears’s Instagram
page reads. “Lord Sear’s legacy in hip hop runs deep.”
No further details on his cause of death were shared.
Lord Sear's real name was Steve Watson, and he was based in
New York City.
SiriusXM will air a tribute to the longtime DJ today and
Friday from 12pm to 4pm ET on Shade 45 (Ch. 45) on car radios and the SiriusXM
app.
Sear joined SiriusXM radio in the early 2000s,
co-hosting The All Out Show with Rude Jude on Eminem’s Shade
45 channel. During the same period, the DJ toured with Eminem on his Anger
Management Tour.
He later launched his own program, The Lord Sear
Special, also on SiriusXM, which he hosted until his de@th.
Eminem was among the first to pay tribute to Sear on
Wednesday, sharing on X: “Sear was one of the greatest people to be around, I
will never forget how he made me laugh on our tour together. Our time on
@Shade45 together was always some of my favorite interviews. He made the world
a better place and I’m gonna seriously miss that. Rest in peace Lil Trey aka
@LordSear!!!”
