WITKOFF and KUSHNER met PUTIN for five hours on Ukraine plan

Wednesday, December 3, 2025 -
A high-level delegation from the United States — Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — spent approximately five hours in Moscow with Vladimir Putin, scrutinizing a revised U.S. proposal intended to end the war in Ukraine. Russian officials described the session as “productive,” “constructive and very useful,” reflecting both sides’ interest in continuing negotiations.

Despite the lengthy discussions, the talks ended without agreement on the core issue of territorial control — a deal‑breaker according to Russian authorities. Some of the U.S. proposals were considered “more or less acceptable,” but others were rejected, and no compromise was reached.

The outcome — or lack of a breakthrough — highlights the difficulty of bridging the wide gap between Russian demands and the revised peace plan proposed by Washington. Both Moscow and the U.S. appear committed to further talks, but as of now, the path to a ceasefire remains uncertain.
