Friday, November 7, 2025 -Kendrick Lamar has garnered nine nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards, solidifying his position as this year’s most-nominated artist.
The Recording Academy unveiled the nominees on Friday, with Not Like Us rapper Lamar dominating across various categories, including a highly coveted Album of the Year nomination for GNX. Should Lamar emerge victorious at the ceremony next February, GNX would become the inaugural rap album to receive the coveted night’s top prize since Outkast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below in 2004.
Lamar is closely followed by Lady Gaga and producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff, each earning seven nominations. Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, and Leon Thomas also made a strong showing with six nominations each.
Other prominent contenders include Doechii, SZA, Tyler, the Creator, Clipse, Pusha T & Malice, and producer Andrew Watt, each receiving five nominations. Past Grammy recipients, including Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Lizzo, and Sam Smith, contributed to the unveiling of the 2026 nominees via a livestream broadcast on Grammy.com.
Notable artists such as Taylor Swift and Lily Allen were notably absent from this year’s list. Their most recent projects, The Life of a Showgirl and West End Girl, respectively, were released after the eligibility period, which spanned from August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
