Russia launches 3 tons of cargo to the International Space Station from Kazakhstan

Monday, April 27, 2026- Russia has successfully launched a cargo mission carrying roughly three tons of supplies to the International Space Station, marking a critical resupply operation to keep astronauts supported in orbit.

The uncrewed Progress spacecraft lifted off aboard a Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, continuing a steady schedule of missions essential to station operations.

The shipment includes food, fuel, and other vital materials needed for daily life and scientific work aboard the station. The spacecraft is expected to dock within days, delivering its payload to the orbiting laboratory as part of an automated rendezvous system that ensures precision and safety in space logistics.

This mission underscores Russia’s ongoing role in maintaining the ISS, even as global space partnerships evolve. With multiple supply vehicles from different countries supporting the station, these launches remain crucial to uninterrupted research and human presence in space.
