LIAM GALLAGHER says he turned down spot on The Celebrity Traitors: ‘It’s not my thing’

Friday, October 9, 2026 - Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has revealed that he turned down an offer to appear on the hit BBC reality show The Celebrity Traitors, disappointing fans who wanted to see the outspoken rock star take on the game.

The singer shared the revelation on social media on October 6, 2026, after a fan suggested he should join the celebrity line-up. Gallagher responded bluntly: “I’ve been asked if it's not my thing I’m not a celebrity.” His comments have sparked fresh interest in why one of music’s biggest names chose to stay away from the popular television competition.

The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, challenges celebrity contestants to identify hidden Traitors while completing tasks to build a prize fund. The second series launched with an average of 8.9 million viewers for its opening episode, making it the most-watched debut of any series in the franchise in the UK.

This season features familiar faces including Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Richard E Grant and James Blunt, with alliances, accusations and unexpected twists keeping viewers engaged. Gallagher’s decision to decline the invitation has added another talking point to a series already attracting significant attention.

Although Gallagher has ruled out joining the current celebrity line-up, his response has given fans another glimpse of his famously direct personality. His refusal also raises an intriguing question for viewers: which other major stars would turn down the chance to compete in one of television’s most talked-about reality shows?

With The Celebrity Traitors continuing to draw millions of viewers, the debate around potential contestants is likely to continue. For now, fans will have to enjoy Gallagher through his music and other appearances rather than watching him navigate the deception and strategy inside the Traitors’ castle.
