Wednesday, September 30, 2026 - US actor Chad Lowe and his wife, producer Kim Painter, have announced the death of their daughter Fiona Hepler Lowe at the age of 13.
In a statement shared on Tuesday, the family said they were “deeply heartbroken” and described Fiona as a loving, smart and creative young girl who loved to dance. They said she was deeply loved by her parents and adored by her sisters.
The family has asked for prayers and privacy as they mourn the loss. A cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
The statement also included a message encouraging anyone struggling with mental health or emotional distress to seek support. Fiona was the second of Chad and Kim's three daughters, with sisters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
The news comes less than a year after Lowe publicly celebrated Fiona becoming a teenager, sharing a birthday message in November 2025. The family had also faced another major loss when their Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in the January 2025 wildfires.
Lowe, known for roles in Life Goes On, 24 and Pretty Little Liars, has spoken publicly about the importance of fatherhood and his close relationship with his daughters.
