NIGELLA LAWSON shares nickname for PAUL HOLLYWOOD after Bake Off feud rumours

Sunday, September 20, 2026 - Nigella Lawson has addressed rumours of tension with fellow Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood, revealing that their relationship is far more playful than speculation suggested.

Lawson, who is replacing Prue Leith on the baking competition, said she and Hollywood hit it off almost immediately after meeting and even developed a teasing dynamic. She gave him the nickname “Professor Precision,” referring to his famously exact approach to judging.

The comments come after reports claimed there had been friction between the new judging partners during filming, including suggestions that Lawson was frustrated by Hollywood allegedly arriving at the set by helicopter. Channel 4 previously dismissed the idea that the pair were constantly arguing about the issue.

Lawson has now described Hollywood as much more playful than he appears on screen, while Hollywood praised her for fitting into the Bake Off team “beautifully” and said their working relationship had been seamless.

Lawson also said the two judges complement each other, with Hollywood tending to get straight to the point while she admits she can talk at length about food.

Their new partnership will be on full display when The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 on September 22, with Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding continuing as hosts.

The nickname and their playful exchanges could become one of the most noticeable new dynamics when the latest series begins.
