Sunday, September 6, 2026 - Nicola Roberts has marked five years since the death of her Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding with an emotional tribute.
On Saturday, September 5, Roberts shared a throwback photograph of the group and admitted it was difficult to believe five years had passed since Harding’s death. She also sent a special message to Harding’s mother, Marie, as friends, family and fans remembered the singer.
Roberts said the milestone had left her feeling deeply emotional, particularly as she reflected on everything Harding should have experienced over the past five years.
Despite the sadness, she also expressed pride in the legacy Harding left behind, highlighting the ongoing work of the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal. The appeal continues to support research focused on breast cancer affecting younger women.
Harding died aged 39 on September 5, 2021, following a battle with advanced breast cancer. Five years on, her message about early detection continues to drive awareness, while the charity established in her memory is supporting research that could help future generations.
