KID CUDI defends performing with KANYE WEST

Sunday, September 6, 2026 - Kid Cudi is defending his decision to perform alongside Kanye West at the rapper’s Chicago concert, pushing back after criticism over their reunion.

Cudi joined West onstage at Soldier Field on September 4, marking a major public reconciliation between the longtime collaborators after years of tension. The appearance quickly drew attention as fans and critics debated Cudi’s decision to support West.

Responding to criticism from radio personality Peter Rosenberg, Cudi made it clear that his relationship with West is deeply personal.

He described West as his “brother” and argued that outsiders do not have the same understanding of their nearly two decades of friendship and music. Cudi also said he held West accountable during difficult periods and believes West’s apology for his past antisemitic remarks was sincere.

The reunion has now become one of the biggest talking points surrounding West’s Chicago comeback. Cudi’s defense puts the spotlight on the difficult balance between forgiveness, personal loyalty and accountability, while West continues his return to live performances.

With strong reactions still spreading online, the debate over whether artists should publicly support West is unlikely to fade anytime soon.
