Wednesday, September 23, 2026 - Jennifer Eckhart, a former Fox News associate producer who became publicly known after accusing former Fox News anchor Ed Henry of rape, has died at the age of 36.
Eckhart was found dead at her Florida home on September 19, 2026, and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that her death was ruled a suicide. Her death comes more than a year after she settled a long-running legal case against Henry.
Eckhart worked for Fox Business Network from 2013 until 2020. She filed a lawsuit against Henry that year alleging sexual assault and rape, claims he denied, saying their relationship was consensual.
Fox News fired Henry in July 2020 following an internal investigation. Eckhart also sued Fox News, alleging the network failed to protect her, but those claims were dismissed, with a federal appeals court later upholding the decision.
After leaving Fox, Eckhart continued working in media and launched the REINVENTED podcast, while also founding The Reinvented Project to support trauma survivors through animal-assisted therapy.
Following the settlement with Henry in 2025, she described the legal battle as deeply difficult but said she wanted to use her experience to support others. Her death has drawn renewed attention to her career, advocacy work and the highly publicized legal fight that placed her in the national spotlight.
