Monday, September 21, 2026 - Emma Roberts has revealed that she deliberately tried not to get too excited before her wedding to actor Cody John, fearing the big day could come with unexpected drama.
Speaking on the Sibling Revelry podcast, the 35-year-old actress said she went into the celebration without setting overly high expectations—but ended up describing it as one of the best nights of her life.
Roberts and John married on July 25 in Sun Valley, Idaho, at his family’s home, with around 200 guests attending.
The actress said she wanted the celebration to feel relaxed rather than overly controlled, even allowing some last-minute additions to the guest list. Her five-year-old son, Rhodes, also played a special role by walking her down the aisle.
The wedding also reflected Roberts’ unconventional style. She wore a custom Monique Lhuillier gown with a vintage, tea-dipped look that she described as giving her a “haunted doll” aesthetic, followed by a black outfit for the after-party.
Despite initially keeping her expectations in check, Roberts said the celebration became a memorable and emotional night surrounded by family and friends.
