The 95-year-old I Dream of Jeannie star was expected to attend the September 5 event and receive the Cinecon Legacy Award, but organizers initially announced that she had withdrawn because of a “sudden illness.” The unexpected cancellation immediately sparked concern among fans.
Eden has now clarified what happened, saying she is not suffering from an illness. In a statement shared on social media, she explained that her doctor recently prescribed a new medication that caused unpleasant side effects.
Because of the discomfort, her doctor advised her to remain at home while the issue is addressed. Eden described the situation as a temporary “speed bump” and said she expects to return to her normal activities once she receives medical clearance.
The reassuring update comes as fans continue to celebrate Eden’s enduring presence in entertainment. Although she could not attend Cinecon in person, her longtime co-star Pat Boone accepted the Cinecon Legacy Award on her behalf.
For now, Eden’s message is clear: there is no reason for fans to panic, and she is focused on recovering from the medication side effects before getting back out in public.
