Monday, August 10, 2026 - Vanessa Feltz has hit out at British Airways after she and her four grandchildren were left stranded in Sardinia alongside hundreds of other passengers following a major system failure.
The 64-year-old broadcaster described the situation as “hellish”, saying travellers were trapped in a long queue with little information about when they would be able to board their flight home. She claimed there appeared to be no clear backup plan as frustration mounted at the airport.
Feltz took to Instagram to document the disruption, saying the airline’s system was down and passengers were left waiting without answers. She also criticised the apparent lack of communication over luggage and suggested staff could potentially process passengers manually but were waiting for authorisation.
Despite her anger, she injected some humour into the ordeal, joking that she was “forming great relationships” with her grandchildren and might even “find a man to marry me in the queue”.
The incident has put renewed attention on the disruption facing passengers during the busy summer travel period. Feltz’s experience highlights how quickly a technical failure can leave hundreds of travellers facing uncertainty, long queues and disrupted journeys.
For the television personality, the ordeal became a mixture of frustration and humour as she waited with her family for a way home from Sardinia.
