Monday, August 10, 2026 - Holly Willoughby has opened up about how a terrifying plot to kidnap, rape and murder her changed the way she sees life, admitting she no longer feels like the person she was before the ordeal.
The former This Morning presenter said the experience showed her what “real fear” feels like and put everything else into perspective. Speaking about the aftermath, Willoughby has acknowledged that she remains vulnerable but is determined not to let fear define her return to public life.
The 45-year-old presenter stepped away from This Morning in 2023 after police uncovered Gavin Plumb’s plans against her. Plumb was convicted in 2024 and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 years.
The ordeal has continued to shape Willoughby’s outlook, but she has gradually rebuilt her public career, recently launching her YouTube series Holly Willoughby Together and speaking more openly about the difficult period she endured.
