Thursday, July 2, 2026 - Liverpool have completed the signing of French defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes in a £60m deal.
The 20-year-old passed his medical with the champions on
Deadline Day in February.
The defender’s move from Rennes, which was agreed in
January, has been formalised and he has agreed a five-year contract, with an
option for a sixth season.
Liverpool have paid a fixed fee of £55m plus a potential £5m
in performance-related add-ons.
Jacquet enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Ligue 1 last
season, before picking up a serious shoulder injury.
The young star will add to Liverpool's centre-back options,
following the departure of Ibrahima Konate to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
He told Liverpoolfc.com: “I feel really good, the first
impressions are good, and I am very happy to start here.
“I am very happy. When I see the facilities, I can see
myself there. I feel good here, and I am very excited to get started.
“For me it’s a big dream, it’s a big club. A club like
Liverpool, it’s a big dream for me.”
Jacquet has become Liverpool's second signing of the
summer, following a €40m deal for Osasuna winger Victor Munoz.
