TRUMP calls ARAGHCHI post on US-Iran deal 'very positive'

Saturday, June 13, 2026- President Donald Trump has publicly welcomed a statement from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi about progress toward a potential US-Iran peace deal, calling the remarks “very positive.”

Araghchi said in a social media post that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, a framework intended to end the months-long conflict “has never been closer,” urging the media to avoid speculation until it is finalized.

Trump reposted Araghchi’s message on his Truth Social account and expressed optimism that a formal agreement could be signed “over the weekend or on Monday,” even as he condemned earlier leaked Iranian reports about the deal’s contents as inaccurate.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s prime minister said the US and Iran have agreed on the final text of a peace deal, with both sides working to finalize next steps, a significant boost to optimism.

The reaction was swift in global markets, with oil prices falling sharply as traders interpreted the growing momentum toward an accord as a sign tensions could ease and the vital Strait of Hormuz might reopen fully to shipping.

As negotiations remain fluid but closer than at any point in months, international attention is now fixed on whether the tentative agreement can be formally sealed and what impact it might have on regional stability and global energy markets.
