Thursday, April 16, 2026-Three paramedics have been killed and six others injured in a series of successive Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese health officials.
The strikes reportedly hit emergency response teams one after another in the town of Mayfadoun in the Nabatieh district, as medics attempted to treat casualties from an initial attack. Officials said the first team was struck while responding to wounded civilians, followed by a second group attempting rescue, and then a third group arriving to assist them.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health condemned the attacks, accusing Israel of deliberately targeting paramedics and obstructing rescue operations.
The Israeli military has not yet issued a detailed response regarding the specific incident, though it has previously said its operations in southern Lebanon are aimed at Hezbollah-linked targets. The incident adds to growing international concern over the safety of medical workers in the ongoing conflict.
