Wednesday, March, 4 2026 - An altercation between lawyers erupted and immediately turned physical during the Lahore High Court Bar Association election.
The physical altercation, which occurred inside the premises
of the Lahore High Court, was between a male lawyer and a female lawyer, with
videos of the incident circulating widely on social media.
Footage shared on platforms including Instagram, TikTok and
Facebook shows a chaotic scene, with lawyers shouting and using abusive
language. Some of the verbal abuse heard in the clips appears to be
gender-based.
At some point in the video, the female lawyer is seen
throwing an object that appears to be part of a fan towards the male lawyer,
which strikes him. Moments later, the male lawyer appears to physically assault
her. She attempts to retaliate, but he continues to hit her before others move
closer.
The footage also shows at least two male lawyers engaging in
a separate physical fight.
Several individuals can be seen filming the altercation
rather than intervening, while voices in the background are heard encouraging
the violence.
The incident has raised serious questions about discipline
within the legal community, particularly as it unfolded inside one of the
country’s highest judicial forums.
