Agents in TRUMP’s immigration crackdown have fired at vehicles at least 10 times

Sunday, January 11, 2026- Federal immigration agents in the United States have shot at people inside vehicles at least 10 times in recent months as part of the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement operations.

These incidents, occurring in cities including Minneapolis and Portland, were linked to agents responding to situations where vehicles were perceived as deadly threats. Officials have defended the shootings as acts of self-defense, saying agents faced “weaponized” vehicles that endangered their safety or that of others.

The shootings have sparked intense scrutiny and raised questions about use-of-force policies and training among immigration enforcement agencies. In Minneapolis, the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old woman by an ICE officer prompted widespread debate after video and expert analysis questioned whether she posed an imminent threat when shot inside her vehicle.

Critics argue that federal guidelines generally discourage firing at moving vehicles except in extreme circumstances, and some of the recent incidents may have violated standard law enforcement practices.

Public outrage and protests have grown across the country, with activists, lawmakers, and civil rights advocates demanding greater oversight, accountability, and reform. Demonstrations in cities such as Minneapolis, Portland, and New York reflect concern over federal immigration enforcement tactics viewed by many as aggressive and dangerous.

As debates continue in Congress and courts, the issue highlights broader tensions over immigration policy, civil liberties, and executive authority in the United States.
