Tuesday, December 2, 2025 - Atalanta head coach, Raffaele Palladino has hailed Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman as an “essential asset” to the team, following the forward's impressive run of form.
Lookman was key to Atalanta's latest victory, scoring in the
2-0 home win against Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday.
This goal marked the second consecutive match in which
Lookman has found the back of the net, continuing his scoring streak after
contributing to Atalanta's $3-0$ victory against Frankfurt in the UEFA
Champions League last week.
The forward's resurgence follows a turbulent summer marked by
a push for a transfer that ultimately did not materialize, which led to him
missing the club's pre-season.
Since his reintegration, he has quickly found his form.When
asked how he managed to bring Lookman back into the team after the transfer
turmoil, Coach Palladino explained his direct approach, as quoted by
TuttoAtalanta.
"With Lookman, I did exactly what I did with the rest of
the team: I spoke individually. A few words were enough, because he’s an
intelligent guy who understands immediately."
Palladino emphasized that the clarity in their communication
has set a clear path forward for the club:“I was clear, he was very clear with
me: we’re going in the same direction because we both want to take Atalanta as
high as possible.”
The coach was quick to praise not just Lookman’s attacking
prowess, but his comprehensive contribution to the squad.
