ERIKA KIRK's message to people who celebrated husband CHARLIE's assassination: "you're sick"

Erika Kirk sharply condemned those who celebrated the assassination of her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, calling such reactions “sick” and dehumanizing. During a televised town hall with CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, Kirk directly addressed people online and in public who justified or mocked her husband’s death, saying, “He’s a human being.

You think he deserved that? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter.” She added that watching the high-resolution video of his killing and laughing about it reveals something deeply wrong in how people treat human life today.

Charlie Kirk, founder of the conservative group Turning Point USA, was shot and killed in September while speaking at a campus event in Utah, and his alleged killer has been charged with aggravated murder. In her remarks, Erika Kirk said the dehumanizing responses online have added to the pain of her family’s grief.

She argued that social media culture has eroded empathy, and she prayed for those who found amusement in such a tragedy. Kirk, who is also raising their young children, stressed that celebrating someone’s violent death is morally wrong and hurts real people.

Her statements come amid broader discussion of political violence, online harassment, and how deeply polarized public discourse has become.

While some commentators have stirred further controversy with conspiracy theories or criticism, Erika Kirk’s message focused on demanding basic humanity and respect for her family’s loss, especially as the case moves forward and her husband’s legacy continues to influence conservative circles.
