ZELENSKY warns against giving away territory as latest Ukraine talks end

Tuesday, November 25, 2025 -
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is drawing a firm line after the latest round of peace talks concluded, warning allies and negotiators that Ukraine will not accept any deal requiring it to surrender territory.

As diplomatic pressure intensifies and international partners search for a path toward de-escalation, Zelensky emphasized that conceding land would legitimize aggression and undermine Ukraine’s long-term security. His message comes as negotiators attempt to shape a framework for future discussions, with several key issues still unresolved.

Officials familiar with the talks say they ended without major breakthroughs, but with clearer outlines of what each side considers non-negotiable. For Ukraine, the priority remains sovereignty and control over its internationally recognized borders.

For mediators, the challenge is to balance military realities with political red lines, all while trying to maintain unity among partners who are facing war fatigue and shifting geopolitical priorities. Zelensky’s stance underscores that any plan proposing territorial compromise would face immediate resistance in Kyiv.

The urgency around the negotiations is growing as international observers warn that delays could entrench the conflict further. Zelensky’s renewed insistence on protecting every part of Ukraine signals not only a negotiating position but a message to global partners: peace cannot come at the cost of the country’s map. Whether upcoming discussions can reconcile that stance with diplomatic pressure will determine the direction of the next phase of the conflict.
