Party of one: TRUMP chews up and spits out his inner circle

Friday, November 21, 2025 -Donald Trump’s latest blowup with Marjorie Taylor Greene is the most recent example of a familiar pattern: trusted allies rising high in his orbit only to be cast aside.

Greene — once a prized confidante — has now been publicly crossed off his inner circle. This fallout underscores how volatile Trump’s relationships have always been: the only consistent loyalty is to himself.

That instability isn’t a new feature of his current term; it dates back through much of his political life. Throughout his first presidency, figures like Mike Pence, Steve Bannon, John Kelly, John Bolton, and Bill Barr all fell out with him.

But the churn has accelerated now: in his new administration of 24 Cabinet-level posts, only three officials held the same positions they did in his first term.

Observers say Trump’s “black box” leadership style helps explain why so many come and go. He tightly controls who has access to him, limiting outside influences — and those who get close quickly learn it’s a revolving door.
