Nine children killed in Pakistani attack in Afghan province, Taliban says

Tuesday, November 25, 2025 -
At least nine children and a woman were killed after Pakistani forces reportedly bombed a civilian home in Afghanistan’s Khost province, according to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

The attack took place at midnight in the Gerbzwo district, destroying the residence of local resident Wilayat Khan. Pictures accompanying the Taliban statement show the tragic aftermath of the strike.

Mujahid also reported that Pakistani raids struck neighboring provinces of Kunar and Paktika, injuring four more civilians. This deadly assault comes just a day after twin suicide bombings in Peshawar killed three paramilitary personnel, intensifying tensions along the border. The Pakistani military and foreign ministry have not responded to requests for comment.

The attack raises urgent concerns over civilian safety and the fragile ceasefire between Afghan and Pakistani forces. Peace talks in Turkey recently collapsed over disagreements regarding militant groups, leaving the border region vulnerable to further violence.

Analysts warn that unchecked escalation could destabilize the already tense border, putting countless lives at risk.
