NICO HARRISON’s firing cements his place in NBA hell

Thursday, November 13, 2025 -The Dallas Mavericks parted ways with Nico Harrison on November 11, 2025, following a disastrous 3‑8 start to the season and mounting fan fury over his trade of Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

Harrison’s tenure had included a trip to the NBA Finals in 2024, but the move of Dončić—widely regarded as a franchise cornerstone—triggered chants of “Fire Nico” and left a scar on the franchise’s direction.

Harrison’s legacy is now irreversibly tied to one of the most criticized trades in league history. Analysts claim the deal lacked justification and left Dallas in disarray; one reviewer stated he “will be remembered forever as the man who traded Dončić.”

With the fan base unforgiving and the franchise’s credibility shaken, Harrison’s future in the NBA appears bleak. Many observers believe this singular decision outweighs his prior successes.

The Mavericks now enter a rebuilding phase, and Harrison’s exit is seen as the first step toward restoring trust with fans and refocusing on foundational talent like rookie Cooper Flagg. For Harrison himself, the question remains whether this is just a low point—or the endpoint of his front‑office career.
