Thursday, November 13, 2025 -A Turkish military cargo plane crashed on 11 November 2025 in the Sighnaghi Municipality of eastern Georgia, near the border with Azerbaijan, killing all 20 people aboard.
The aircraft, a C‑130 Hercules belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces, had taken off from Ganja in Azerbaijan en route to Turkey. It vanished from radar shortly after entering Georgian airspace and did not issue a distress signal, according to Georgian aviation authorities.
An investigation team of 46 Turkish experts, working in coordination with Georgian authorities, reached the crash site where wreckage was scattered across a hilly plain.
Turkey’s defence minister confirmed that the flight data recorder was recovered and said the personnel on board were “martyred” in service.
