Sunday, September 21, 2025 -President Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces struck a vessel accused of smuggling drugs, killing three people. The operation took place in international waters under the oversight of U.S. Southern Command.
Trump said intelligence confirmed the vessel was carrying narcotics along a known trafficking route and described those killed as “narcoterrorists.” He added that no U.S. personnel were harmed in the strike.
The action follows a series of similar operations earlier this month, underscoring the administration’s stepped-up campaign against maritime drug trafficking in the region.
